You are trusting us with the most personal words you may ever type. Here is exactly what we do with them, in plain language.
What we collect
The words you write in your sessions, your onboarding answers, your first name, and your email if you sign in. If you invite your partner, we store the invitation message and, once they respond, their side too. We also record product events (like 'someone finished onboarding') tied to a random key, not your name.
What your partner sees
Nothing, until you choose to send it. The link you share carries only the softer message you approved. Your full paragraph is revealed only in the mutual reveal, after they have shared their side. A private note to Tara is never shown to anyone.
What we never do
We never sell your data. We never use your words to train AI models. We never show one partner what the other wrote privately. We never send anything to anyone without you pressing the button yourself.
The AI
Tara is an AI built on Anthropic's Claude. Your session text is sent to Anthropic to generate her replies, under an agreement that it is not used to train their models. Tara is not a person, not a therapist, and not a substitute for either.
Your rights
Export everything or delete everything, any time, from your account page. Deleting your account removes your sessions, statements, and invitations from our database. If something here worries you, write to us and a human will answer.
Where it lives
Your data is stored with Supabase and served through Vercel, encrypted in transit. Payment details, when we add payments, will live with the payment provider, never with us.
