AI mediator

An AI mediator is software that sits between two people who disagree, gives each a fair turn and helps them understand each other, without taking a side.

Last updated October 21, 2026

Mediation means a neutral outside person helps two sides communicate and reach a way forward. An AI mediator plays that neutral role in software. That makes it different from a general chatbot, which usually hears only the person typing.

Untangle is an AI mediator for couples. Tara sits between you, each on your own phone. She asks one question at a time, gives you each a turn, checks you were heard and never says who’s right. Tara is an AI built on Anthropic’s Claude.

Untangle is not therapy, not professional mediation and not for emergencies. It isn’t designed for abuse or fear for your safety. If a message looks like a crisis, Tara pauses and points you to real people who can help. The check is automatic and won’t catch everything, so if you’re in danger, call 911 or 988.
